Clinics and workshops are held at Music Instruction Studio periodically, or taken to schools or churches based on need.  Some of the topics covered as follows:

Beginning Drummers Workshop

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce those who are interested to the world of drumming and to provide useful information on how to get started.  Topics included in this clinic are:

  • Getting Started in the World of Drumming

  • Snare Drum, the “Nucleus” of the Percussion Family

Student Jams
 

MIS drum students have the opportunity to "jam" with guitar and bass students to provide the experience of connecting and communicating with other players in a live scenario.

The students develop a better understanding of the drum, bass and rhythm connection, technique, time feel, song format, rhythm phrasing and improvisation.
